About The Merritt Company
Who We Are
Real estate is more than transactions. It is vision, timing, and execution. It is the ability to recognize opportunity where others see obstacles and transform properties into assets that create long-term value.
The Merritt Company was founded on that belief.
My name is Ethan Merritt, and I started the company alongside my father and brother with a shared goal: to build a real estate investment company focused on smart acquisitions, quality improvements, and long-term investment strategy.
The Merritt Company originally began in Missouri, where we first started identifying investment opportunities and working with properties that had untapped potential. What started as a family effort to pursue real estate opportunities quickly developed into a broader vision for building a company centered around disciplined investment and strategic property improvement.
As the business grew and new opportunities emerged, the company expanded into Oklahoma City, allowing us to operate in one of the region’s fastest growing real estate markets.
Today, The Merritt Company continues to grow with a focus on strategic acquisitions, disciplined project execution, and long-term portfolio development.

We focus on identifying properties where thoughtful improvements and strategic planning can create meaningful value. When we take on a project, our goal is not simply to renovate a property quickly. Our goal is to improve it the right way.
We believe in doing the work properly, avoiding shortcuts, and making improvements that increase both the durability and livability of a home.
Part of our mission is also to help make housing more attainable. By identifying overlooked or underperforming properties and improving them responsibly, we are able to bring homes back to the market that may be more accessible for buyers who might otherwise struggle to afford homeownership.

What We Do
The Merritt Company operates across several areas of real estate:
Property Acquisitions & Transaction Structuring
The Merritt Company operates as a real estate investment company, not a real estate brokerage. We do not represent buyers or sellers as agents.
Our focus is identifying properties with investment potential and entering into purchase agreements directly with property owners as a principal buyer. In certain transactions, we may structure the purchase through assignment or double-closing transactions, where we acquire or facilitate the transfer of a property to another investor as part of the investment process.
When these transactions occur, The Merritt Company works with licensed title companies, closing attorneys, and other appropriate professionals to ensure the transaction is handled in a compliant and transparent manner under applicable Oklahoma real estate laws.
Our role is centered on sourcing opportunities, structuring transactions, and facilitating investment deals, rather than acting as an intermediary representing clients.
Remodel & Value-Add Construction
We improve properties through strategic renovations designed to increase value, functionality, and long-term durability.
Design & Planning
From concept to layout planning, we help shape projects that are both practical and efficient.
Development
We work on development projects that bring new value to underutilized properties and land.
Residential & Commercial Rentals
Our long-term investment strategy includes building a portfolio of rental properties designed to generate stable income and lasting value.
